Criminals are the persons who are abusing their rights against public policy and harassing innocent people by different ways and means. In such a scenario, some people believe that prisoners should given life time penalty for reducing crime while others think that there are other choices available for control criminals. This essay will discuss both the views along with my opinion in the following paragraphs.
Looking at the former view, long sentences aware culprits from bad and good. After completing the punishment they try to not do crime again as they understand the value of life and Lear a lot of things in the prison. For example, the inequalities in income, wealth and opportunities make plenty of people turn to crime and it is well said that, ” Criminals are victims who create victims.” But after long penalty they become aware and try to become solid citizen.
Looking at the later view, some believe that education and job training is better option for rehabilitating felons. It gives opportunities to the offenders improve their life and mitigate crimes by explaining better life opportunities and value of life. To cite an example, nobody is criminal by birth but some circumstances and the situation, make them criminal and it is the best way to reduce crime by gives them education and job opportunities.
In my opinion, give long sentences is not a better way to deal with criminals and reduce felony. However, I believe that Criminals should give a chance for rehabilitation as they are not born with criminal behaviour.
In conclusion, there are plethora of ways available to curb offences such as education education enriches criminals with awareness and makes them realise the difference between good and bad.
