In recent years, cultural preservation has become a hot topic all over the world. There is a debate that funds should be invested in art and culture, while some consider it to be an unnecessary support. In this essay, I will take both statement into consideration and give my own perspective.
On the one hand, cultural activities play an essential role in the protection of cultural diversity. Specifically, they have a stable connection to residents’ mental life including customs and traditions. Besides, culture contains abundant value of history and mentality which are unique identities of each countries. For instance, there are several museums constructed in Vietnam with a view to restoring and preserving minor cultures. By contrast, if those meanings are lost, people’s community will also lose the uniquity and differences.
On the other hand, there is a number of other alarming issues that need addressing by authorities. For example, overpopulation is leading to a variety of problems that have a negative impact on the quality of living conditions. It is the shortage of accommondations and fresh sources of water that are the consequences of the increase in individuals. In addition, governments from every continents are facing severe environmental pollution. Without financial support to protect nature, human’s health would have been threatened by potential diseases and epidemics.
In conclusion, it is equally vital to make investment in both culture and other aspects, however, those more significant issues should take priority over. If authories spent a part of fund for supporting cultural activities, they would have been maintained and developed.
