It is sometimes argued that the important of zoos serve no beneficial functions. I strongly disagrees with this proposition for several reasons.
The first argument given to my opinion is that zoos can help people, especially children , enrich their knowledge about the wildlife. This is because zoos which provide the perfect study place and also idea for realistic experience for learning. For example, Vietnam’s zoos allow visitors to see an animals in the red list such as polar bear, rhinoceros which normally just can see in textbooks.As the result, it can help children broden the horizon and satisfy their curiosity about the world of wildlife.This is why i think zoos play a important role in educating children.
Another point behind my belief is that zoos are of great importance to the conservation of endangered species. The reasons for this is that zoologists and wildlife biologist tend to lauch coservation programs based in large zoos. Consequently, this not only can protect an animals from the risk of being poached for their body parts such as furs or tusks, but also recover the population of their species. For instance, several China’s zoos that have successfully established a stable poppulation of panda through captive breading programs before reintroducing them to their natural habitats. For this reason, I believe that the conservation role of zoos is undeniable.
In conclusion, I totally disagree that zoos have no useful purposes. The essential of zoos in education and the conservation of endangered species has proven the importance of zoos in today’s life. This has been showed through the above arguments.
