An ongoing dilemma that employees are facing nowadays is whether they should leave their current job to work for another company or if it is better for them to continue working for their current employer throughout their career.
Generally, people are divided into two groups based on their viewpoints on this matter. The first group believes that it is more comfortable for them to remain employed by the same company for their entire career. They argue that they have invested years of their life in becoming an expert in their current position and during this time, they have built strong relationships with their colleagues. They believe that transitioning to another organization would set them back in their career, requiring them to start from scratch, learn new skills, and establish new relationships with colleagues. Moreover, leaving behind friends and reputation could adversely affect their confidence and mental well-being.
On the other hand, some individuals prefer to change their workplace after working for an employer for a few years. They argue that stepping out of their comfort zone and experiencing a new environment makes them more well-rounded, exposing them to different communities and situations. They feel that taking on new challenges makes their career more dynamic. Additionally, they find that staying in one place for an extended period can lead to a monotonous experience and hinder their career development.
In conclusion, both perspectives are valid and reasonable, depending on the preferences an employee may have. However, in my opinion, working with the same group of people is more fulfilling as it creates a sense of being part of a family. Furthermore, job satisfaction plays a crucial role, and therefore, I prefer not to take the risk of moving to a new workplace where I am uncertain about getting along well with my new colleagues.
