People have different views about art-related subjects have the same importance as other academic subjects. I partly agree with the given idea, as, although the arts can positively effect on children`s confidence and creatively. I think that other school subjects can be significant for students` future life and career.
To begin with, there are a number of factors why people think that art-related subjects as significant as other subjects. Initially, the inclusion of music, art and drama subjects in primary school curriculum can help students to enhance their social-skills, particularly creativity. This is because in music and art lessons students can sing songs or drawing pictures, which force them to think creatively. Additionally, academic subjects can only improve cognitive abilities of child, while comprehensive abilities can only be developed with the art-based subjects. As, in these subjects, students can learn work with group and share their ideas, also develop their confidence to speak in front of a lot of people, which can also help to be successful in their future lives. That is why many psychologists advise people, who are suffering from social anxiety to take drama classes.
On the other hand, I consider that other school subjects, such as science and mathematics have the same importance as art-related subjects due to many reasons. Initially, academic subjects give an opportunity of improving cognitive skills, such as problem-solving and critical thinking, which encourage students to make better decisions in their future life. Furthermore, this subjects can help students to get a good job in their future career, also enter well-known university, because nowadays good universities demand students that are good at mathematics, science and critical thinking. In this case, students can also contribute to the progress of both company and country. Therefore, children should also pay attention to the other school subjects.
To conclude, in my personal view, pupils should learn both art-related and academic subjects, as art-related lessons can improve comprehensive skills, while academic subjects develop their cognitive skiils.
