Some students decide their career pathway earlier than others. These involve any occupations that require skills or certificates beforehand, hence it is considered better to learn things related to their career rather than learning subjects taught in normal high school. Although the majority of people go through the high school education system, I think it is better to focus on what they pursue in their career from their early life.

People that work in vocational careers vary in terms of the skill level they have, and customers tend to spend their money on more skilled people. For example, hairdressers require techniques in order to make sure that their customer is satisfied with the new hair style. Depending on the person, some may have more advanced cutting and perming skills that attract more customers. This brings them success and fame as they’re highly demanded by a number of people. The earlier they start, the more experience they’ll have throughout their lives and more successful they can be. Therefore it is more profitable to invest time and money to become a hairdresser at student age even though there’s still an opportunity cost for not studying school subjects.

Moreover, working hard to acquire certificates and skills sometimes brings the same advantage as when studying school subjects. For instance, gaining baking qualification is not so easy unless people put enough effort into it. It means that managing time is the important key to achieve what they want, and therefore people will naturally gain time management skills. This is normally gained by students who study hard in their high school, which means there are less reasons that make people choose to study regular subjects over courses related to their pursuit as there are overlaps of the skills that can be acquired.

In conclusion, I think giving yourself a chance to follow what you wish to achieve, even if its not related to school life, is a positive thing. Gaining experiences and doing more practical activities may help people study their chosen occupations more quickly as they’re doing it because they are very motivated towards the job.
