Nowadays, some academic institutions provide online classes on the Internet. Although there are some negative impacts regarding this trend, I firmly believe it is a positive development, and I will give my reasons below.
On the one hand, there are some cogent arguments why this trend can lead to negative consequences. For instance, they argue that face-to-face learning brings many benefits to both teachers and students. From the teachers’ perspective, they can perceive students’ emotions better and also get immediate feedback about their methods of teaching. Students, besides, can participate in the process of learning more actively and efficiently. Furthermore, universities and schools are a kind of community where young people can learn social skills by interacting with other members. Thus, depriving them from such a society has a detrimental effect on their future lives.
On the other hand, contrary to what many believe, I agree with those who argue that online classes offer many advantages to students and even society. Firstly, online courses provide opportunities for all pupils and students to learn whatever they want, regardless of where they live, even in remote areas. In fact, it is a good way to achieve this motto: “the readily access to learning facilities is a basic human right.” Secondly, it can bring benefits to all society members. Online courses reduce traffic jams and additionally decrease the level of air pollution in cities as the use of modes of transportation is decreased. Finally, online courses have some financial benefits not only for people who do not have to pay money for public transportation but also for governments that should provide more transport facilities in the absence of online courses.
In conclusion, the use of the Internet and technology has many benefits for all society members and can also save national budgets.
