Overall, action and romatic comedy were the most popular type of films among males and females respectively and action films were also the the most profitable in the given period in America.
Looking at the bar graph, action films headed the list among men with two-fifths (40%), making it twice more popular than comedy at one-fifth (20%). It is interesting to note, that bottom of the list was romantic comedy with 5% only, although this genre was in the first place among women with just under a third (30%). However, the least preferable genre of ladies was science fiction amounting to only 5%.
With regard to the pie-cahart, in 2010 the revenue from action films comprised almost a half (49%) of the box-office takings and next came comedy with 24%. Proportion for romantic comedy was the third most sold at 12%, making it slightly higher than thriller at 10%. Finally, other types of films comprised only 5% of total revenue.
