It is argued that the construction of multistoried buildings is the most effective way to provide access to places for living among people. I partly agree with this statement because a more rational method of using land is beneficial in our modern world, when the population grows rapidly; however, this action cannot be fulfilled in all areas due to possible damages.
Indeed, the fast pace of the development of urban areas requires more habitats for people who come to cities for work. The number of working population constantly increases; however, the demarcated territory of a city cannot be simply expanded. Consequently, building tall apartment blocks is the most effective way to provide a huge number of people with housing. For instance, these days in Moscow, the most lucrative city in Russia, a lot of apartment quarters, such as “21/19” and “Shk Sadovye”, are being constructed to make it possible to deal with migration.
Obviously, not every land has a chance to provide tower-houses with an appropriate foundation. It is very dangerous to build quarters of unstable tall apartment blocks in cities, for the reason that plenty of damage will be caused by this action. For example, the Champlain Towers South in Florida, USA, collapsed in 2021 because of a poor-quality foundation. It led to the deaths of approximately 100 people.
In conclusion, I am sure that building tall apartment blocks in large cities to provide enough homes is a good idea, since the population of urban areas grows with the unchanging territory of cities. Nevertheless, the space where these buildings are constructed should be examined properly in order to avoid catastrophes.
