It is believed that building tall apartment blocks is the best way to provide enough homes in large towns. I personally agree with this statement for several reasons, and I will explain why in this essay.
Perhaps one primary reason for this would be the reduced use of land. This is because area in big cities is extremely limited, so this practice can be more effective and more sustainable for the environment. Meanwhile, it seems that this way might make it possible to cut down operational costs for both contraction and maintenance. For instance, many people who live in the metropolitan areas prefer to choose apartments compared to private homes, as the cost is a lowest more that building private home. Finally, we should also consider that potential investment is at its highest, where several companies are interested in funding the development of tall apartments, because sometimes, top-floor units is higher selling or rental prices.
I do appreciate the opposing view, which is that high-rise apartments have drawbacks for the environment, such as light pollution, which may minimize sunlight in the local area. Nevertheless, I believe that this negative effects could be overcome through building gardens to provide oxygen and through well-planned construction before building apartments. Consequently, it can enhance air quality and create green spaces.
In summary, it seems to me that providing high-rise apartment blocks is an effective way because of the positive impacts that residents and even the environment may gain. These range from affordable costs for both construction and maintenance to the more efficient use of space.
