The population of the world has been increasing at a concerning as well as rapid rate. The continued increase in the rate of population has to be one of the greatest problems faced by mankind. The cause of this detrimental problem is a lack of awareness among the public. I am inclined to agree with the viewpoint that it is the most significant matter faced by humans.
The population of the world is increasing at a rapid rate due to a lack of awareness among the members of general public. Those individuals living in rural and remote areas are completely unaware about the current situation of the global population. They bear a lot of children without knowing the effect of it. For instance, a recent study conducted by WHO in the remote areas of Nepal has concluded that in almost every household, there are at least 4-5 children. Thus, due to very little or no awareness among individuals, the population is increasing at an alarming rate.
In my opinion, this issue is the greatest challenge of the world today. A rise in population can result in several problems such as lack of proper food and housing among every citizen. The meteoric rise in the number of people makes it challenging for each individual to be provided with adequate resources. Similarly, the concern about health facilities and job employment also increases with the increase in the number of people competing for these facilities. For example, a recent survey conducted in India disclosed that more than 40% of the population is suffering from unemployment.
To conclude, the significant increase in the current population is the biggest challenge of mankind, which is primarily caused due to very little knowledge among the general public. I am inclined to agree with this statement to the fullest extent.
