Health care system is under more constrain in order to tackle the health problems which are occurring as a result of increasing amount of overweight people in the society. It is believed by some individuals that introduction of more physical education classes in the school curriculum will be great solution to bring this issue under control. I completely agree that there is necessity of involving more physical education classes along with health lessons in school itself which will make children active and conscious about their health choices right from young age.
It has been observed that people who are physically more active in their youth has less probability of facing obesity issues in future. The student’s academic life is becoming so hectic because of increasing competition that they tend to avoid getting involved in extra-curriculars. Thus, inclusion of more physical education classes in school will directly encourage the students to become fit and active. There should be daily one hour session of physical education in school where various forms of fun physical activity such as dance, various sports, aerobics, yoga and cardio is taught. Physical education lessons should be designed in such a way that students are motivated to exercise everyday.
Another reasons for increasing weight among people is lack of awareness about their health, fitness and dietary habits. In researches, it has been observed that children are more prone to obesity because of easy availability of junk food and lack of physical activity. According to me, this can be improved by addition of more health lessons in academics itself which focuses on physical activity, balanced diet and highlighting it’s importance in daily routine. Students who are aware and well-informed will choose to make healthier choices in life even after their academic life is completed. If people know hazardous effect of obesity like cardiac issue, diabetes right from beginning they will try not ignore the necessary measures required to prevent it.
To conclude, exceeding the number of physical education and health lessons in school curriculum will prove to be beneficial for preventing overweight issues and hence, improve health of the individuals in society.
