Owing to the problems which a growing population of overweight people cause for the healthcare system, some people think that the key to solve these issues is to have more sports and exercises at school. I completely agree that this is the best way to tackle the issue of deteriorating public health in relation to weight.
Firstly, dealing with the issues surrounding obesity and weight problem is best solved by stimulating the long-term interest for those overweight people. Those who are haunted by obesity problem tend to be lazy and be reluctant to take exercises initiatively. Including more physical education lessons in school curriculum may serve as a tool to push them to go outside and join sports activities. At the moment, the average child globally does exercises possibly twice a week, which is not enough for counteract their otherwise sedentary lifestyle. So by adding PE lessons, they will undoubtedly become fitter and more active.
Another point to consider is that physical education lessons provide a platform where children can receive advice from professional tutors/coach. In PE lessons, teachers can train students in a targeted way. For example, someone may have a bad ankle, which means they have to avoid activities such as bouncing and running. However, without professional instructions, it’s highly possible that they may do exercises blindly and suffer from an invertible injury. Furthermore, what’s best about this solution is that it is actually the cheapest and most effective way of losing weight and backing to health again, compared to getting recipes at hospital or taking medicines.
In conclusion, to deal with increasing population of overweight people, introducing more sport in schools is the root for this problem. All other methods are just scratch the surface.
