In today’s modern era, it is often argued that there has been a huge reliance on online communication platforms that also led to the decrease of face-to-face interactions. Some people may view these impacts negatively while others believe that it offers a variety of ways to access and strengthen connections with other people. In this essay, I will be discussing both views and will give my personal opinion in this topic.
One of the main reasons why people rely too much on online communication platforms is because of the convinience it gives. For example, when applying for a job, most companies prefer to conduct their job interviews online as it saves more time. Applicants also choose online job interviews since it also saves their time, money, and energy. As a result, some employers and employees are not able to communicate effectively and connect when they meet in person.
Another important point to consider is that some people prefer to work remotely since they have a family to consider, and being at home makes it easier for them to work. Online work allows them to connect with their families too and make connections with other people with the help of online platforms we have now such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. These online platforms make connections easier and also accessible, even if you’re far away from your family.
I firmly believe that both views have its own pros and cons, but making time in connecting with people online and still being able to socialize in person makes a huge difference in strengthening connections.
