To begin with we must agree to the fact that job salaries have a significant impact on career choice and so I believe it is a relevant factor to consider. Of course, other factors such as working conditions, assigned tasks and a good work-life balance should also be taken into consideration, but the financial stability that a well-paid job can offer is equally important.
Furthermore, I’m of the opinion that having a high-income is highly rewarding for all the efforts we have put into it, especially if we have undergone long-term studies, such as for health or law related career, or strenuous physical exertion, for example manual workers, to achieve it. Indeed, it is crucial to steer clear of contracts that offer ridiculously low salaries for jobs that require significant physical or mental effort.
That said, it’s extremely important to not only have a profitable profession, but also to have good work conditions and a healthy work-life interface. These factors, in fact, are essential and very significant to consider when choosing a job. If, for instance, we had a highly lucrative job, but it was degrading and did not allow us to have free-time, we would risk of contracting the burn-out syndrome that would cause us a lot of stress.
Despite this, I agree that having a well-paid job is extremely important, since it would give us a lot of more opportunities in life and it would be a good reward to all those who have worked hard to achieve it or those who are forced to work in poor conditions or at exhausting rhythms.
