There is still a profoundly controversial debate in society about whether the most important aspect of entering the job market is to seek a well-paid job or not. In my opinion, a job with good compensation should be weighed fairly alongside other factors like job satisfaction and career advancement.
It is an individual’s goal to find a job that aligns with their ultimate objectives. Firstly, a small group of people work with non-financial motives. Some individuals seek opportunities to learn about business operations or gain deeper knowledge in fields such as finance or professions that require specialized expertise. This is a common occurrence among newcomers in the workforce.
Another group is often referred to as those dedicated to serving society. Their goal is to contribute to humanity beyond simply making profits, whether by assisting the less fortunate, advocating for justice, or providing homes for orphaned children. Meanwhile, some individuals prioritize job security over other considerations. In Vietnam, many parents prefer their children to stay within their comfort zones, opting for a stable career with a regular monthly salary.
On the flip side, many employees in today’s market are the primary breadwinners in their families. For them, a well-paying job is always the top priority, surpassing factors like future job opportunities and a comfortable work environment. These individuals may even need to take on multiple jobs to adequately support their families, leading them to set aside personal interests and dreams they had when they were younger.
In conclusion, the importance of a high income hinges on the individual’s reasons for entering the workforce.
