Band 5+: The number of people moving from rural to urban areas in search of a better life is increasing, but city life comes with its own set of issues. What exactly are these issues, and how can they be solved?

There is no doubt that cities has a lot opportunities for people, this condition caused people moving from rural to urban area in search of a better quality of life. However, urbanization facing serious issues for many cities, such as housing prices, traffic jam, and pollution can be effect on that quality of life. This essay will outline these problems and suggest potential solutions.

Firstly, the large number of population in some cities has resulted in a high price of affordable housing. For instance, people who worked in Jakarta prefer living outside Jakarta, caused the price for owning or renting home in Jakarta is pricy. As a result, people need more time for commute from home to work forces, which impact for next issues, traffic jam. Moreover, the statistic in Jakarta has been shown that traffic jam increased rapidly since 2010. In addition, overpopulation and traffic jam lead to serious issue for environment, pollution. This is because, the city failed to maintained waste and air pollution from their citizens. This is can lead numerous health issues and the quality of life will drop.

As a first step, governments should provide program for reducing the housing prices. China cities like Shanghai and Beijing, for example, have government apartment with low price for people who worked in the city. Another thing that government should enhance the quality of public transportation, in order to tackle of traffic jam. Finally, government and residents must more mindful of the environment issues.

In conclusion, the urbanization to big cities around the world is causing several problems. To address them, the government should do everything to escape from these issues, such as reducing price of housing, enhance transportation systems, and make integrated waste processing.
