Obesity is an issue of increasing concern around the world, and more money than ever before is being spent on food. The reasons why the number of overweight people is growing in society these days are: intake of refined grains, sugars, and starches, a quick meal, and insulin resistance. To tackle these problems, governments and individuals can either focus on awareness campaigns or go to the gym constantly.
One of the main causes of fatness is consuming large amounts of refined grains, sugars, and starches, such as white rice, white bread, pasta made from refined flour, candy and sweets made with refined sugar, and sucrose. Another cause is devouring sumptuous meals such as Lobster Thermidor —a rich and creamy dish made with lobster meat, wine, and cheese. Moreover, Mahshi paired with lamb—an Egyptian dish, which is deemed a hearty meal, causing the obesity. In addition, there is also a medical issue that would cause corpulence, which is out of control and may be a genetic problem: insulin resistance. There are more people suffering from that due to the disruption in metabolic hormones and enzymes. For instance, medical research was shown that a 27-year-old girl struggled with an ulcer on her foot because of increasing the rate of insulin in her blood, resulting in an amputation to her foot. That is why obesity is considered a proxy for a metabolic illness.
To deal with these issues, we have to do more exercises, such as prolonged ambulation or a gym workout. Furthermore, governments should put in some regulations that stipulate that all restaurants must serve a fat-free, healthy meal. The patients who are living with the insulin resistance should undergo regular check-ups with the specialist doctor. Moreover, they ought to eat vegetables, fruits, whole grains (oats), avocado, nuts, and so on.
In conclusion, the growth of obesity and overweight people is a major issue—indulging in fast food excessively and the imbalance in metabolic hormones and enzymes. These difficulties can be overcome through going to the gym and undergoing regular check-ups.
