An increasing number of online work has become a major trend among lots of companies. Although remote work has several drawbacks, I believe they are overshadowed by that of benefits.
Nowadays, many companies let their workers work at home, which has two main disadvantages. Firstly, there is a huge risk of getting isolated from community if individuals spend their most time at home. The main reason for this is people have to communicate with colleagues and clients at work which prevents them from getting isolated from society, meanwhile remote workers might not have such opportunity. Secondly, for many remote workers, it is difficult to separate their personal lives from work. Sometimes working at home might become a part of personal life because most remote workers do not have a specific deadline making them mix both jobs and personal life.
On the other hand, working online has several benefits that have to be mentioned. When people work online, they have more time for themselves and their family. Their flexible schedule allows them not to ignore their personal lives, as they can make their own deadlines and schedule make it possible to balance work and personal life. Moreover, remote workers do not have to spend much time and energy on commuting to work, compared to office workers. This can help them save lots of their income to personal expenses, than transport, food, or clothing. For example, many individuals who work at home do not need a new shirt and pants to save their professional image in front of their colleagues and clients.
In conclusion, I believe flexible working time and saving money by working at home outweigh the disadvantages of working online.
