Many parents who are highly interested in their children’s education share the same opinion that art, music and other subjects that are meant to develop children’s creative mindset and level of art, rather than teaching them something that they would need in real life is pure waste of time and that these subjects should not be a part of school program or compulsory. Other parents that support their children’s creative sides, think that there is nothing wrong with teaching kids how to draw or play music. Both these conclusions have a place to be and I particularly agree with both of them. You see, parents that already have planned their kids’ future and want them to focus on education and getting a college degree more, think that having art classes that are supposed to be a mental relief to kids after a long and exhausting time of studying just wastes the children’s time. In their opinion, students would find a way to use this time to study something else or just go home earlier to have a proper rest. Which is quite logical, let us discuss my thoughts about solving this problem.
To give students more time for studying and rest, art and music classes should become optional after primary school, so that students who are in need of more time for something more essential to them would not spend their time on a subject they do not even need.
This way, pupils who are planning to improve their art or music skills would have an opportunity to concentrate more on their studies, this works for both sides and doesn’t bring discomfort to anyone
