This topic has gained considerable attention, and I believe it is crucial to strike a balance between listening to traditional and international music.
It is obvious that the available Internet and the popularity of music on social media contributed to the creation of several types of music including electronic melodies, rap, and street music. This is due to the fact that music serves as an extremely popular form of entertainment and self-expression. Music has a unique capacity to convey and evoke a wide range of emotions, allowing individual to express their feelings, perspectives and experiences. Furthermore, music has therapeutic and healing effects. Several pieces of evidence demonstrate that music helps people reduce their stress levels, elevate mood, and improve overall well-being. Music therapy also is employed in various settings to aid emotional and psychological healing, especially for patients or those suffering from difficult circumstances, by providing a sense of comfort and sympathy.
In my opinion, traditional music should be appreciated more than foreign music. This is because traditional music conveys a country’s culture, customs, and history, which can connect a man to his cultural history. It plays a pivotal role in preserving and passing them down to future generations as well as serves as a source of knowledge. By listening to traditional or folk music, an individual is able to learn information about historical events, people, or even customs. For example, Bac Kim Thang is a famous folk song in Vietnam that reveals numerous mysterious things in the past. Until now, it is common to catch groups of children playing and singing this song. In contrast, international music is solely for entertainment and enjoyment as it has a catchy melody.
In conclusion, music is essential for human lives as the overall benefits it offers, and I wholeheartedly concur with the idea that traditional music should be prioritized above international music.
