It is argued that people have been becoming more anti-social and losing courtesy. I have always thought that social behaviors are rooted in heritage culture. Despite rising communication tools and globalization, all cultures will combine, and specific ethical codes in societies are doomed to failure.
On the one hand, societies have faced a social phenomenon that is called multicultural nations. In some cases, the newcomer population is larger than the locals. Hence, traditional ethical codes have been changing in these communities as well as new members feel free to act based on their beliefs. So, they seem blunt or rude to locals because their standards are different from locals’ behavior. Also, we should note that politeness is relative and different from person to person. For instance, hand-shaking in greetings is considered a polite act in Europe. Meanwhile, in Islamic countries handshaking with a woman by a man is taboo.
On the other hand, social pressures such as the economic situation, and gender mutuality have led people to be more self-fish. We have to put ourselves first to struggle against flood problems. So, people feel that they need to cache every chance even if this chance belongs to others, and if they fail then would try to eliminate others. Hence, Anti-social people are appearing in these cases. I believe a solution exists in two areas. Firstly, governments should design new educational systems based on cultural diversity and establish mutual opportunities for all people. Secondly, parents should teach their children to caring others and draw new ethical codes according to a new era.
In conclusion, anti-social behavior has been rising and societies have faced a decline in politeness. I agree that there is a myriad of evidence for these assumptions. As solutions, governments should empower mutual opportunities, and design new educational systems. Meanwhile, parents should raise their children with new standards.
