Nowadays it has become very easy for many tourists to visit various countries for leisure as compared to the past. In my opinion, the advantages of this progress outweigh the disadvantages that accompany when there is proper supervision by a responsible government.
Due to increase in the tourism, the government’s revenue has increased along with its ability to maintain those tourist spots. This also has resulted in the rise of the employment opportunities for the local residents. In addition to that, the avenues for recreation and fun have grown, which is an essential element of life. Furthermore, people get to experience different cultures and traditions, which expand the horizon of their vision about life, especially if the places they visit are holy.
On the other hand, there are some downsides also. If the tourists are not responsible in disposing the garbage properly, the beauty and attractiveness of the places is affected. Additionally, if the government managing the areas, particularly sacred places, becomes profit centered, there is a possibility of undermining the proper maintenance of the finer important aspects of the regions which are understood and valued only by the indigenous people.
In conclusion, the advantages due to the developing tourism can compensate for the underpinning disadvantages when there is a proper management taking care of the sanctity of the places being visited along with valuing the local sentiments.
