Today’s children experience greater pressure from society than in the past. This issue is becoming increasingly serious in modern society. In my opinion, modern children face more pressure because of high expectations from society.
One reason why children experience pressure today is that education has become more competitive and technology-driven. Nowadays, children face intense academic competition from an early age. They often spend their extra time on online courses, educational platforms, and assignments. For example, many students attend regular school during the day and then spend several extra hours preparing for university entrance examinations. As a result, they have less free time for relaxation and hobbies.
Another reason is social media and its negative impacts on children’s mental health. Social media exposes children to constant comparisons with others. In addition, cyberbullying has become more common in society. Victims often experience stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression. For instance, a young child who receives negative comments on social media may feel depressed and lose self-confidence.
Consequently, many young people suffer from stress because of pressure from society.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that today’s children are experiencing more pressure than those in the past. They face both psychological pressure and mental health challenges because of society’s demands.
