Its often argued that investment in maintaining and repairing ancient buildings is in abundance, instead of giving way to more modern architecture. Although I agree that present buildings play a very important role, I think proper findings of old constructions is also crucial for the society.
On the one hand, the investors should definitely allocate a large part of its budget on modern architecture. For the balanced development of urban areas, it is necessary to build new, modern buildings. Modern buildings, roads and bridges, alleys, and recreation parks create favorable conditions for the population. For instance, If there is no comfort, the population will emigrate and find this conditions wherever they want. That is why the government and private sector should adequately finance new constructions in the first place.
On the other hand, ancient buildings are our historical heritage. Historical heritage is not only official monuments, squares and museums. This is everything that surrounds us, everything that creates the appearance of the city. There can be a museum at every step if residents try to preserve even that old house, which at first glance, was destroyed and no one needs it. History is preserved in literally everything, from the houses to the signs on them. Thus, old architecture sector is also vital for the society and should not be neglected.
To conclude, though I agree that the money should be allocated on such urgent needs of the society like modern constructions, I think that ancient buildings should also be financed since they play an important role in historical heritage.
