Transport is an essential part of an urban life, lengthy journeys are frustrating for those who are concerned. Transport delays and long journeys are a tremendous concern in many urban areas today. It happens for a variety of reasons, however, solutions do exist to mitigate this problem.
I consider two factors are to blame why long journeys are widespread. The first reason is attributed to lack of investment on high capacity public transport. This means that too many vehicles are using existing networks and congestion is inevitable usually in most large cities, such as London, Tokyo, Paris and others.
Another contributing factor is overcrowding in cities owing to the reason that people migrate to urban areas and put strain on facilities and transport capacity. This means that transport system is often pushed into a critical point, causing delays and cancellations.
Nevertheless, by taking some straightforward measures the problem can be alleviated. The main remedy should start with encouraging investment in better infrastructure via public private partnerships. This improves network and fosters a sense of civic pride. Another effective measure to be taken would be to use tax incentives , which will reach a result of people.working remote so there is a less need to commute from suburbs to the inner city for work. A final response would be the development of more flexible patterns of transport, such as car pulling which would reduce reliance on existing systems.
In conclusion, the problem of time-wasting journeys derives from overcrowding and lack of investment in cities and this problem won’t be solved unless necessary actions are taken.
