Some people believe that when natural disasters occur in undeveloped or developing nations, economically developed countries should fund these countries with humanitarian relief. I strongly disagree with this statement, because wealthier countries should think about their people more, and this is not their concern.
The main reason for why I do not agree with this statement is that every country should be responsible for their own citizens. The vast majority of the countries’ budget is collected from residents’ taxes, and these taxes aree utilized for improvement of countries for the sake of the citizens. So, the funding which suppose to spend for citizens cannot be expensed for other countries even if they need a help. For example, if a country requires more hospital and they use the money for helping instead of own demands, these officials should be replaced with the other ones.
Another significant point is they are not obligated for anything. Natural disasters such as eartquake or flood are predictable, most of the time. Therefore, countries must take precations about these problems. For instance, government should not give a permisson for building houses next to rivers which will prevent most of life and matter harms in flood. Moreover, if the poorer countries’ government and officials can be reckless about human lives, the other countries should not have any obligations, so they should not be charged what is not related with them.
In conclusion, various number of people thinks that, richer countries ought to help non-rich nations under the circumstances of natural disasters. I firmly disagree with this statement, because every country is responsible for their own residents and they have no reason to deal with these types of issues.
