From my perspective, choosing between family and career is incredibly challenging because both hold significant importance. I am still undecided about whether to prioritize my family or my career goals.
On one hand, a high-paying job with long hours may seem attractive. Working extensively and earning well could provide a brighter future for both myself and my family. As the sole breadwinner, I cannot afford to miss out on any opportunities to earn a good income. When I am unable to meet my family’s wants due to insufficient earnings, I feel a deep regret that I am not living up to my role as a good provider. However, it’s essential to recognize that money isn’t everything; the love of family is crucial for true happiness. A responsible person will go to great lengths for their family’s well-being, regardless of their own happiness at work.
In real-life situations, a lower-paying job with shorter hours could allow me more time with my family. This would enable me to enjoy quality moments together. It is important to remember that work should not always take precedence over family. The concept of family encompasses happiness, emotions, and cherished experiences. I long to spend time with my loved ones and go out every week so we can appreciate nature together. If I have enough free time, I can also focus on self-improvement by learning new things each day. Sharing dinner with my family allows us to connect over our daily experiences, fostering an environment of love and happiness.
In summary, while I believe that a high-paying job with long hours might be necessary to fulfill my family’s needs—especially given the rising cost of living—I also recognize the drawback of not being able to spend enough time with them.
