There is no room for doubt that in this contemporary society, the environment plays an important role in shaping most of our aspects of life. Indeed, one topic that, to an extent, has led to worldwide controversy is whether global warming or deforestation has negative effects on recent environment-related issues. Some people think that it is global warming that is responsible for devastating the human natural world while others claim that deforestation. In this essay, I will discuss both sides and give my opinion.
On the one hand, global warming is considered the main cause for the ecosystem’s negative consequences. Firstly, the increase in global temperature can lead to glacier melting which can make the sea level rise. As a result, the habitat for humans to live will be reduced permanently. For instance, some of the provinces in southern VietNam surrounded by sea now have lost a significant area of agricultural land due to the sea levels keep rising. As a result, it can have an undeniable negative effect on our civilization as VietNam is an agricultural country. Moreover, if this phenomenon continues to occur, the earth may witness a tremendous rise in natural disasters like droughts and famine.
On the other hand, deforestation has an important role in adversely affecting the environment. To begin with, deforestation obviously means that a large number of trees will be chopped down by humans or get burnt down by forest fire and the animals living in these woods will lose their natural habitat and die. This could have an unpleasant domino effect on the biologically diversity in these damaged ecosystems, creating an unbalanced environment for other kinds to live. Moreover, in some countries, where people keep destroying forests have raised the rate of floods because lack of trees can lead to erosion and take away top rich soil, not to mention when the rainy season comes there’s nothing that can slow down the rough flowing water.
In conclusion, global warming and deforestation have a huge impact on our environment ecologically and economically. However, from my perspective, neither of these problems outweigh the other. Furthermore, this can not change the fact that the society must have a more serious concern about finding solutions and regulations that somehow reduce the effect of climate change.
