In this contemporary society, with the development of modernization and industrialization, there still remains a controversial topic about whether global warming or forest destruction has negative effects on recent environment-related issues. Some people think that it is global warming that is responsible for devastating human natural world while I claim that deforestation is blamed for people’s habitat.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why global warming does harm to the Earth’s ecosystem. The first thing is that it causes the temperature rise, bringing about the partial melting of glaciers. It means that sea levels are gradually rising, which shows a significant threat of widespread flooding in the certain countries of South Pole. Hence, not only the economy of countries is seriously influenced but also citizens’ health is remarkably menaced by melted ice caps. Moreover, the greenhouse effect is considered the main cause for ecosystem’s negative consequences. Another factor is that some factories are discharging carbon dioxide gas into the environment constantly, which leads to directly impact on global warming. For example, Australia, the nation suffering this greenhouse effect, which makes the nation’s people face the diseases related respiration and dermatology.
On the other hand, deforestation has an important role in affecting the environment adversely. To begin with, this circumstance essentially contributes to the loss of the diversity of some animal species. For instance, rare animals such as primates and giraffes have been lost in large numbers due to habitat loss. Accordingly, this affects the entire tropical forest ecosystem, causing a decline in crop yields and natural resources. Furthermore, forests plays an imperative role in the preventing erosion when rain comes down. Obviously, these woodlands’ roots help the soil surface become sturdier, which makes human avoid natural disasters.
In conclusion, the outstanding phenomenon mentioned above has outlined numerous different opinions about environmental destruction agents. As far as I am concerned, I think that the Government should pay more attention to the drawbacks of forest degradation.
