Band 5+: Why do you think teenagers today are more insecure than before? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience

In today’s fast-paced and interconnected world, teenagers face a growing sense of insecurities than even before this situation main causes are influence of social media, academic pressure and unrealistic social beauty standards among young generations impacting their mental health well-being and self-esteem.

First and foremost, social media is revolutionized young individual theory about life. Platforms like Instagram and Snapchat make filtered version of reality as body part and face. After that youngers compare their lifestyle and appearances to anothers. For example, popular figures shoe their daily routine on Instagram reels, hereupon this condition might be negative effect watching luxurious lifestyle, branded cars and another expensive technology items. This contrast influence their self-esteem and distorted self-image.

Additionally, academic challenging study days in modern times. Some schools give pressure taking higher score and success from students. Therefore, students have a fear of failing exams and another competitions and scholarship. For example, students preparing for top and competitive universities around the world entrance exams. It causes anxiety, depression which diminishes their self-confidence and load pressure on students.

Moreover, societal expectation regarding physical appreciate and behavior play an active role in community among teenagers. Beauty standards is important for job and academic level in some counties like Korea and China. In fact, Chinese and Koreans make more plastic surgery around 18 and 20 ages young individuals that is why many youngers are discontented their figure and appearance.

In conclusion, the combination of social media influence , academic pressure and societal standards have created challenging environment for today’s teenagers. Teacher, parents give more attention for children growing period. They should explain children to except their apprence and enjoy their lives .
