Band 4+: Write about the following topic: Some people argue that all experimentation on animals is bad and should be outlawed. However, others believe that important scientific discoveries can be made from animal experiments. Can experimentation on animals be justified? Are there any alternatives? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience.

Experiments on creatures are a very common practice of researchers all around the World; whereas, there has always been a debate on this practice since it has started. Many individuals vocalize their voices against the harm, that animals have to go through because of these experimentations, and other individuals think that it is ok to sacrifice animals in the name of findings and it will be a great benefit for the humans. I believe that although practicals are very important, but animals should not be the ones suffering anymore for the sake of discoveries.

We cannot give any excuses for using animals for our own benefits and research, because at the end of the day, they are beings too; they breathe too, like all humans. We should not give them pain and torture in difficult and time-taking procedures.

But the question arises: what should be the substitutes of pet harming? Scientists can use microbiology to make their discoveries for the man-kind. For example, researchers can use humans and animals cells and tissues for better findings; they can also use the help of technology for their practicals. This will demolish the use of actual pets used in the experiments, and no harm will be caused to the living beings.

In conclusion, I believe that organizations should stop sacrificing animals for their research, if they are still continuing this practice, because there can never be any explanation for this act. They can either use the above mentioned alternatives or find any other harmless solution this issue.
