In the whole history of the world money had always had a huge role and a great impact on society. Furthermore, if we think about our society and what it has become in the past two centuries, we can see it clearly. The aim of this essay is trying to explain why this could not be a right path to measure personal success.
As I was saying, money has a great value, working-wise. In fact, in modern society working hard and having a big company often equals earning a lot of money and, consequently, being successful. In this view, money does relate to success, because in a capitalistic society money and growth are above everything and people measure fortune by those.
On the other hand, though, it is beyond doubt that during history a lot people gained success by doing things like charity, for instance. People like Mother Teresa who became well-known everywhere and that is still remembered nowadays. Instead of searching for money, she used to help poor people and she lived a life without nothing. She had a heart of gold and that’s why she had a lot of success and won even the Nobel prize. I believe that she could be a shining example of the fact that money is not a fine measure when speaking about success.
In my opinion I think that being successful stems from several reasons: it could be a job, a way of being or acting in life, a sport or a talent. Despite the fact that success shouldn’t be the most important thing in life, a human being has different features and every single one of them could become the key to succeed.
