Younger generations must make their own decisions instead of parents helping them. I firmly disagree with this view.
Proponents of the view claim that youth making their decisions can broaden their mind, which is an effective way to develop their critical thinking. For example, when students find a new way to solve a mathematics homework independently without asking their parents, that would improve their solving problems’ efficiency and strengthen their mindset. Leading students more rely on themselves instead of other people.
However, I believe parents play a role to help juveniles make their own essential decisions. Take a kindergarten’s children as an example, parents are responsible for teaching their kids, because people who at an early age don’t have enough ideas to choose right things and they can’t even express their opinions properly. During the urgent period, parents have to show the positive side patiently to their children as a leader, the way for children can receive these benefits and to imitate parents behaviors and develop their minds. Furthermore, overindulging their children to make choices might result in children becoming selfish. That would be hard to get in touch with people and isolated from society in the future.
In conclusion, although young people make their own important decisions without parental influence is a good way to develop their mindset. From my perspective, I am in favor of the view that parental influence with younger generations’ decision making is better than the former view.
