The provided line graph delineates information regarding the average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal from 1967 to 2007.

Overall, it is immediately apparent that the United Kingdom had the leading number of carbon dioxide emissions in all given years, whereas, in Italy and Portugal, the emissions increased significantly over the period. Therefore, Sweden had recorded large numbers of carbon dioxide emissions, nearly reaching the proportion of the United Kingdom. To begin with, the United Kingdom had recorded large numbers during the period. But, initially, this trend stood at about 11 metric tonnes, while the number remained almost unchanged in the next ten years before declining steadily to reach its lowest point in 2007 at around 9 metric tonnes. However, it remained the highest emitter of carbon dioxide in all the years compared to others. Sweden, on the other hand, started with around one metric tonne, increasing in the first decade, followed by a sharp drop in the next twenty years. After that, its numbers continued declining slightly to around 5 metric tonnes in 2007.

With regard to Italy, at first, this category started with approximately 4 metric tonnes in 1967, while it then grew exponentially until the end of the period. At the end of the period, it demonstrated the second highest carbon emissions in this graph, at about 7 metric tonnes.Portugal showed a similar trend, starting with around one metric tonne in 1967 and increasing to around 5 metric tonnes in 1997, and remained at this point to the end of the period

The line graph illustrates the average carbon dioxide emissions per person in four different countries (the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal) during a forty-year period starting in 1967.

Overall, there was a downward trend in the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the United Kingdom and Sweden, while in Italy and Portugal, the emissions increased significantly over the period.

Regarding the United Kingdom, in 1967, it recorded the highest level of CO2 emissions with around 11 metric tonnes. The number remained almost unchanged in the next ten years before declining steadily to reach its lowest point in 2007 at around 9 metric tonnes. However, it remained relatively the highest level of carbon dioxide emissions among the other countries. Sweden, on the other hand, started with around one metric tonne increase in the first decade, followed by a sharp drop in the next twenty years. After that, its numbers continued declining slightly to around 5 metric tonnes in 2007.

In contrast, the CO2 emissions in Italy increased significantly over the years from just over 4 metric tonnes in 1967 to a plateau in 1997 just below 8 metric tonnes and remained the same for the next ten years. Portugal showed a similar trend, starting with around one metric tonne in 1967 and increasing to around 5 metric tonnes in 1997 and remained at this point to the end of the period.

  3. Tanvin Akter says:

The line graph illustrates the average carbon dioxide discharges per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and portugal during two1967 to 2007.

It can be seen that, United Kingdom was the highest position for carbon emissions rate over the years. In contrast, Sweden and Portugal discharge relatively same amount of carbon dioxide in the last year.

In term of United Kingdom and Sweden, it is evident that United Kingdom was in the major carbon emission country in 1967 and it released about 11 metric tonnes in that year. However, that rate was gradually decreased over the year. Meanwhile, carbon emissions was significantly rose up in 1977 then plunge the next year and came to about 7 metric tonnes in 1987 in Sewden.

When it comes to Italy and Portugal the carbon discharge rate was steadily grown up over the years and reached up to just under 8 and 7 metric tonnes. However, it is noticed that Portugal and Sweden was in the same position for carbon emissions rate in 2007.
