The two plants grange park in 1920 and its current state.

Overall, the park has undergone significant changes over the years.

In 1920,the park had two entrance, one on Arnold Avenue and the other on Eldon Street. There were three rose gardens evenly distributed in several corners of the park, a stage for musicians located slightly left of centre, a Fountain in tge Center, a pond for water plants on the upper right and a glasshouse near the Eldon street entrance. Seats were placed around these features.

Today, the layout is quite different. The stage for musicians has been replaced by an amphitheate for Concretes on the left side. The central fountain is gone, and in its place, there is a large rose garden surrounded by seats. The pond and glasshouse have been replaced by a cafe and a childrens play area respectively. A new water feature has been added near the Eldon street entrance, along with an underground car park accessible from the low right corner of the park.

These changes reflect the parks adaption to modern needs for recreation and convenience.

Entrepreneurship is increasingly chosen over payroll jobs in today’s global landscape. Many people prefer freelancing or self-employment due to the independence it offers, the ability to showcase creativity, and the potential for higher income. However, self-employment also comes with challenges, including capital shortages, the risk of business failure, and external barriers. This essay will explore the key reasons behind the preference for self-employment along with its drawbacks.

On the one hand, several factors drive people toward entrepreneurship. The foremost reason is freedom, which allows business owners to make independent decisions, a luxury often unavailable in traditional jobs. Unlike salaried employees, entrepreneurs have full control over their work schedules, goals, and business strategies. Moreover, self-employment provides opportunities to implement and showcase innovative ideas. For instance, in businesses requiring customized production, owners can adapt processes through re-engineering to optimize efficiency. This flexibility enables entrepreneurs to be more creative and responsive to market demands. Lastly, self-employment can be more lucrative than conventional jobs, as business owners can eliminate unnecessary administrative costs, maximize revenue, and scale their ventures for long-term financial growth.

On the other hand, entrepreneurship has notable drawbacks. The primary challenge is a lack of capital, with many startups struggling to secure adequate funding. Banks often hesitate to lend to new businesses due to insufficient collateral or financial history. Additionally, new entrepreneurs face a high probability of failure due to limited experience, market competition, and unforeseen economic downturns. External challenges, such as government regulations, high excise duties, and complex licensing requirements, further hinder business growth.

To conclude, many people choose entrepreneurship for its independence and creative opportunities rather than working in salaried jobs. However, despite its appeal, self-employment comes with financial risks, business uncertainties, and regulatory challenges that aspiring entrepreneurs must carefully consider before pursuing this path.

Another major risk is the high probability of failure, often stemming from a lack of technical skills and experience. Lastly, external challenges such as government regulations, high excise duties, and complex licensing requirements further complicate self-employment.

The two plans depict how a public park, namely Grange Park, changed from its initial opening year, 1920, to the present.

Overall, it is evident that significant transformations have occurred in the infrastructure setup in the recent period compared to the opening year.

In the 1920 plan, there was a fountain in the middle of the park, which was transformed into a garden of various roses, surrounded by seats all around. In the previous plan, there were three rose gardens; one was near the entrance; however, a fountain has been placed at that location. There was a stage for musicians to the east of the park, near the fountain, which was converted into a large amphitheater for concerts.

Looking at both plans in more detail, in the initial plan there was a pond at the north-east corner; a rectangular-shaped children’s area has been built on that location. A new water feature has been built in the corner of the park near the entrance on Eldon Street. Moreover, a new underground car park has been set up, with the entrance beneath the water feature.
