Smartphones have become essential tools for many people worldwide, including the younger generation. Children are often exposed to smartphones by their parents. Some argue that this leads to negative developments, while others claim that they can bring benefits to children. In this essay I will discuss both views while providing my own opinion. From my perspective, I believe that, overall, smartphones have negative developments for children.

To begin, children develop immense curiosity for many things they encounter in their daily lives. Many parents provide their children with smartphones for entertainment purposes. Some caretakers use their devices to distract children’s attention, allowing them to gain a temporary break and some peace of mind from their children’s constant needs. Furthermore, kids do not have many responsibilities and prefer to spend their time with something that is enjoyable. For example, children enjoy watching their favourite cartoon shows on YouTube. As a result, smartphones become an easy fix for children to spend hours every day on the internet.

On the one hand, smartphones are designed to make people dependant on their devices. Without proper guidance from adults, mobile phones can bring disadvantages to children. The negative side effects, such as reduced attention spans, excessive dopamine production, and exposure to many negative content, hinder the overall benefits. For example, children can spend hours playing video games and get excessive dopamine hormones, causing them to forget their studies. Consequently, it can impact to their academic performance in school, resulting in lower grades.

On the other hand, with proper guidance, children can gain valuable knowledge from accessing internet through their mobile devices. It can give them access to information with instant results, allowing them to have a broader perspective and mindset. Moreover, extensive exposure to positive content can motivate them to learn about particular interests that they like. For example, children can learn about fascinating history in an engaging way and enjoy learning subject they once found it boring. As a result, they have more options to learn knowledge that sparks their interest.

In conclusion, children spend hours in their smartphones because parents give them access. It comes with many challenges, from reduced attention spans to becoming addicted to dopamine. However, with appropriate guidance, it can be a useful tool to excel in their skills. Thus, a balanced approach is needed to avoid children spending hours on the internet. Overall, it brings positive and negative developments, but the negative developments are too significant to ignore.

  2. Hamza Tariq says:

In recent years, it has become very common for children to spend several hours each day using smartphones. This situation is mainly caused by technological advancement and changes in lifestyle. In my opinion, although smartphones have some benefits, this trend is mostly a negative development.

One major reason children spend so much time on smartphones is easy access to the internet and mobile applications. Smartphones provide games, videos, social media, and educational content, which attract children easily. Moreover, many parents give smartphones to their children to keep them busy, especially when they are occupied with work. Another reason is online learning, as many schools now use digital platforms for homework and classes, increasing children’s screen time.

On the positive side, smartphones can help children learn new skills and gain knowledge. Educational apps, online courses, and learning videos can improve children’s creativity and academic performance. Smartphones also help children stay connected with friends and family, which is useful in today’s digital world.

However, I believe the negative effects are more serious. Spending too much time on smartphones can harm children’s physical health, such as causing eye problems and lack of physical activity. It can also affect their mental health by reducing attention span and increasing stress. In addition, excessive smartphone use can weaken social skills, as children may prefer virtual interaction over real-life communication.

In conclusion, children spend long hours on smartphones mainly due to entertainment, parental habits, and educational use. While there are some advantages, I strongly believe this is a negative development overall, and parents should limit children’s screen time to ensure healthy growth.

    band 7
These days, every child has access to mobile phones. Some use them for a short period of time each day, while some spend many hours every day watching them. I believe that it is a negative development if they are not used properly.

To begin with, the main reasons behind the over-usage of smartphones would be loneliness and parents’ busy schedules. By this I mean that when children are home alone or they do not have someone to play with, then these kids start watching different cartoons and playing games on mobiles. Moreover, if there are no entertainment hubs near homes for babies, then this may also cause excessive use of smartphones. For instance, in Pakistan, most of the younger generation spends too much time on TV, and this is because there are no parks and playgrounds near their houses.

Subsequently, excessive usage of phones has many harmful effects on a child’s emotional and physical health. For example, if a baby is looking at a cell phone all day, it will cause some health problems, such as issues with vision or sleep timing. Furthermore, these kids lie in bed and watch kid’s shows on Netflix and YouTube, and do not do any other exercise activity, which can make them obese, and this is not good for them. Therefore, we have to organize a timetable for our youngsters to manage their time in an effective way.

On the other hand, some people argue that mobile phones are very useful and beneficial for our younger youth, saying that they can learn skills and techniques from the internet.

To sum up, parents should give proper time from their busy lives to their offspring to keep them safe from over-usage of mobiles.

  4. Mohima Modak says:

In modern world, technology indispensable part in children life. While some people believe that it reduces physical activity and less social. Other group of people argue that it plays a vital role in developing important skill. This essay will discuss both views.

To begin with, many people think that excessive using mobile phone make children less social and less physical activity. Due to overuse of mobile phones, the most serious problem is eye strain. When children spend long hour at screens, their eyes became tired and irritated. Common systomps include, burning eyes, headache, blurred vision, watery eye. In addition, children do less blink, while using mobile phones, which leads to dry eyes. Over time, some studies suggest that too much blue light can damage the retina and icreasing the risk of lose eye power. Besides physical problems, blue light affects the brain. It reduces the production of melatonin, a hormone that is responsible for sleep. The ramifications could be, sleep disorder such as difficulty falling sleep and shorter sleep duration. Poor sleep directly affects their daily perfomance, feeling tired in the morning time and less concentration in activities.

On the other hand, our academic systems totally depend on technology. A strong technology skill significant for the complex job market. Because of that, a children needs to learn several skills from online platform. There are many online courses and classes which are available for student. After learning these, they can be a good problem solver and gain other skill. Meanwhile, when a children will participate online games or courses after that they can understand the value of team work. Which makes them social and understand about leadership responsibility. If they live far away, they can connect with their family and relative through of social media. Which create strong bornd with relationships.

In conclusion, technology is not main problem. Parents should learn their children the positive and negative purposes purposes. With proper guidance and balance use, technology can play key role in children life.

  5. sehr says:

There are some kids who are always busy with their phones and spend so many hour per day. I think it has negative effect not only on child development but also on society. Further I will give some reasons and its positive and negative impact.

To begin with, these cases are extended in last few years because of parents’ busy life. Mothers are giving phones to them and taking rest and doing other work. so, through this children are always ignored and instead to doing anything else, they busy in their phones.

According to me, this had  bad influence on child’s behaviour. A child who always busy in it, might has behaviour problem. These kinds of children are always hiper and behave rude in the crowded places.  Additionally, children not only having behaviour problem but also it leads to very serious diseases. For example, if a child is always busy in phones it may have effect on his/her eyesight. There will also some problem with physical health because sitting in one position and lack of physical movements may leads them to physical issues.

Spending hours on smartphones may have some advantages too. Fist and foremost, many younger persons now earning through social media. They are always engage with audience and making plenty of money and support their families.

In conclusion, we can say that every technology have both positive and negative effect but is it only useable and profitable when it uses rightly otherwise, it just a waste of time and money. In my opinion, parents should have proper check on child’s activities while using cellphones.

  6. Fatemah says:

Smartphones are the greatest invention of the time, and they’re only beneficial when we use them right; otherwise, they can bring huge damage to our younger people. Nowadays, children spend most of their time on smartphones; this approach is detrimental far beyond our imagination. There are multiple reasons due to which minors prefer to use their phones more than any other useful activity despite knowing the fact that it is the root cause of various problems. From my perspective, this gesture is highly negative and needs to be addressed as early as possible. This essay will discuss why this is the case, along with my own opinion.

Firstly, minors need a lot of attention from their parents, but when their elders fail to do this then the real problem begins, and children start spending more time on smartphones to overcome their loneliness. Moreover, there are number of cases in youngsters when phones become their addiction because of popular video games which can engage them all day. On top of that, in a few cases parents hand over their cell phones to their children whenever they cry; as a result, it becomes their habit to get phones, otherwise they behave like stubborn children, especially in a crowd.

In my opinion, due to heavy use of smartphones, this generation will pay a huge price in the end. More screen time is not only detrimental for health, such as weakening of eyes due to overuse of cell phones, but also restricts the mind from creative thinking. For instance, according to the research, excessive phone usage can disturb sleep, vision and even posture. All these things ultimately lead to fatigue, anxiety, stress, and block the brain’s ability to think and work efficiently. Furthermore, young children do doom scrolling all day and intake negative content on social media which can badly affect their mental health This is a wake-up call for all of us; we need to set boundaries on digital intake of our minors.

To sum up, all of the above problems are just the tip of the iceberg, and if we do not handle them immediately, then smartphones can easily consume our generation’s health and thinking ability.

  7. Usama Khan says:

We are living in the era of technology and many nations around the world are become a part of this advancement by chance not by evolution. They are not that much educated about new equipments. Hence, a lot of childrens overuse the smart phones.

On the one hand, Technology is very significant for every single person but many people are not familiar with the use of modern phones. There are many advantages and disadvantages of technological adavancement. Almost yougnsters and children spend more their time on smartphones. The childrens must able to use smartphones for their daily needs but when they use smartphones for a long time its can cause many health problems. For instance, eyes infection, its also lead phycological issues and may keep the childrens away from the society. These are the drawbacks for chlid overuse mobile phone.

On the other hand, there many possitive aspects of this development for new generation. They keep up to date their self from the whole world. Many students and learner complete their studies through smartphones from different virtual platforms. But all under age must be train about the use of technology because its can negatively effect on children phyical and mental health. Furthermore, smartphones play a possitive role in childrens study and knowledege.

In conclusion, overall, the new phones for childrens use is a huge impactful achievement for their future advance lives. But the use of these modern phones can make the chlidrens lives easy and can be threatened for their career and daily lives if they dont have proper guidance for this new technology.

  8. Ahmet Kacici says:

In recent years, it has become common for some children to spend several hours each day on their smarthphones. This trend can be attributed to several reasons, and i believe that it generally represents a negative develoment.

First of all, the main reason that children use smarthphones for extended periods is the prevalent availability of entertainmentand social media applications, such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Games, videos and social platforms are designed to capture attention and provide instant satisfaction, making it very tenpting for children to spend more time on their devices. Furthermore, smartphones offer easy access to information, which is sometimes used for educational purposes but often culminates in distraction. Another factor is peer pressure; children may feel compelled to stay connected with friend or participate in omline trends to avoid feeling left out.

While there are a few positives, such as the ability to access educational resources and keeping in touch with your friend even though they are far away from where you live. The overall consequences are concerning. Excessive screen time can lead to health issues, such as poor eyesight, obesity, and sleep disorders. Therefore, it can prevent social and emotional development by reducing outdoor and indoor activities. Moreover, children may become addicted to their devices, making it difficult fro them to focus on their studies or build meaningful relationships offline.

In conclusion, the increase in smartphone usage among children is mainly due to appeal of digital entertaintment and social connectivity. Despite a handful of benefits, i am convinced that this is a negative development on the grounds that the harmful effects on health and social skills far exceed the advantages.

  9. Nazym Akyshova says:

Nowadays, many children spend several hours every day using their smartphone. There are a few reasons for this, and in my opinion, it is more negative development than a positive one.
One main reason it that smartphones are very entertaining. Children can play games, watch videos, and use social media apps like TikTok or You tube. These apps are designer to keep people”s attention for a long time. Also, many parents are busy with work or household tasks, so they allow their children to use smartphones to stay quiet or entertained. In some cases, parents may even feel that using phones can help their children learn something.
Although smartphones can be useful for learning and staying connected, I believe the disadvantages are greater. Spending too much time on a screen can affect children”s health. For example, it can hurt their eyes, cause poor sleep, or make them less active physically. In addition, it may affect their mental health by making them feel lonely or stressed, especially if they are always comparing themselves to others on social media.
Another problem is that children may not develop good communication or social skills. If they spend more time with their phones that with family and friends, they may find it harder to talk to people in real live. Also, they may not have enough time for hubbies, reading, or playing outside.
In conclusion, children use smartphones a lot because they are fun and easy to use. However, I think this is mostly a negative trend because it can harm their physical and mental health, and reduce real-life social interaction.

  10. tanbin omy says:

Over the past decade, smartphone use has significantly increased, especially among children. Many young people now spend hours each day on these devices. While there are several reasons for this trend, I believe it is a negative development overall.

One of the main reasons children spend so much time on smartphones is the availability of entertainment and social media. Platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram attract children with endless content that is both entertaining and addictive. Additionally, smartphones offer easy access to online games, allowing children to connect and play with peers around the world. Furthermore, some children use phones to help with schoolwork by searching for information or using educational apps.

Despite some educational benefits, I believe the drawbacks of excessive smartphone use outweigh the advantages. Prolonged screen time can lead to reduced physical activity, poor academic performance, and even mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Children may also struggle with time management and become dependent on digital entertainment. Therefore, parents must monitor their children’s usage and set healthy boundaries.

In conclusion, while smartphones can support learning and communication, their overuse by children is a worrying trend. It is essential for adults to guide children on how to use these devices responsibly to minimize the negative effects.
