Personally, I think it's a bit strange to make friends online because you can't spend time with them in real life. I'm a tactile person, so it's not really for me. But I understand why people do it, because not everyone can easily find and build connections in real life. Some people just can't find others who share their interests and outlook on life. As for whether it's harder to make new friends as you get older, I'm not that old myself. I can't say for sure if it's true, but it seems that way to me. It's like everyone is just colleagues or acquaintances.
