Describe a public holiday in your country. One of the most important public holidays in my country is the Dead Holiday, which is also known as the Lunar New Year. It's a special occasion to celebrate the beginning of the new year according to the lunar calendar. Tet usually takes place in late January or early February, depending on the year. People often have about a week off from work or school. It's the longest holiday of the year in Vietnam. During that time, people clean up, decorate their houses with new clothes, and prepare traditional food like chung cake and spring rolls for New Year's Eve. Families gather together to watch fireworks and wish each other good luck for the coming year. Children often receive lucky money in red envelopes. For them, a doof, a dove, and a wig are some of the most exciting parts. I personally love this because it's a time for family reunion. Everyone seems happier and more relaxed, and the streets are full of color and festive decorations. Also, we don't have to worry about schoolwork during that week. The week is great. The only thing I dislike is that everything is closed, so it's hard to hang out with friends. Overall, it is a meaningful holiday that brings people close and gives everyone a fresh start for the new year.
