The law I'd like to discuss is the increase in taxes on cigarettes in Turkey. As you know, Turkish citizens have a high rate of cigarette consumption, which is incredibly detrimental to their health. To address this, the government implemented a series of measures to discourage smoking. They began by raising taxes on cigarettes, hoping to make them less affordable. However, this initial increase didn't significantly deter people from buying cigarettes. As a result, the government decided to raise prices again. Unfortunately, this also proved ineffective. I've heard that the government is now considering a complete ban on cigarettes, which would prevent people from purchasing them altogether. I strongly believe this is a fantastic idea. Cigarettes are essentially poison, and they can lead to serious health problems, including lung cancer. I think the authorities are taking the right steps to protect public health by trying to eliminate cigarette consumption.

The law, uh, I will be talking about is the increasing taxes of cigarettes. Firstly, as it’s known, the citizens of turkey tend to consume so much cigarette that would be quite detrimential to their lungs. Therefore, the government decided to take some measures to prevent this situation. Therefore, they announced that they would be increasing the number of taxes for cigarettes. However, after the legislation process, the situation was not deterring for people at all and individuals kept buying those products. Consequently, the officials decided to increase the prices once more. But this was not a solution neither and in the future. I heard that the government is planning to ban cigarettes once and for all. Therefore, people will not be able to buy those products anymore. And why I believe that this is a good idea because as it’s known, this product is like a poison for people and it may cause, um, even lung cancer. Therefore, I believe that and um, the authorities should do something about this situation and prevent people from smoking cigarettes.
