Describing a person who has chosen a career in the medical field, I can talk about Dr. Gary, who has been my general practitioner for a few years. Dr. Gary started out as a nurse, believe it or not, and that was pretty radical at that time because he worked in a field that was mostly female-dominated. He worked his way through nursing, becoming a head nurse and a charge nurse, and later teaching nursing. I think he got tired of putting up with doctors who didn't know as much as he did, so he went back and got his medical degree and began working as a doctor. Dr. Gary is pretty amazing, even though he's older. I appreciate his knowledge and background, as well as the fact that he has had a lot of practical experience, more so than someone who has only been a doctor. I think being a nurse is really important because nurses have more interaction with patients than doctors do, especially in the medical system in my country, which seems to be really driven by profit. You're lucky if you can see a doctor for more than a few minutes, even with good insurance. It's a challenge that people don't have the same kind of bedside manner that we grew up with, or that people are used to in small country towns where they have a country doctor. I would say Dr. Gary still represents that aspect. He is very personable and knowledgeable, and even when dealing with serious problems like cancer, which normally your oncologist would handle, Dr. Gary is willing to take the time to help you navigate the system, not only regarding treatment but also some aspects of the cost. So, yes, Dr. Gary is a pretty amazing person in the medical field, and that's who comes to mind.

Describing a person who has a chosen career in the medical field, well I can talk about Dr. Gary who’s been my general practitioner for a few years. Dr. Gary started out as a nurse, believe it or not, and that was pretty radical at that time because he worked in the field, he was mostly female dominated, and worked his way through nursing and up to becoming a head nurse and a charged nurse and later teaching nursing. I think he got tired of putting up with doctors who didn’t know as much as he did, so he went back and got his medical degree and began working as a doctor. Dr. Gary is pretty amazing, even though he’s older. I like that aspect of his knowledge and his background and the fact that he’s had a lot of practical experience, more so than maybe someone who has just only been a doctor. I think being a nurse is really important because you have more interaction with the patients than the actual doctors do, especially for the medical system in my country where it seems to be really driven by profit and you’re lucky if you can see a doctor for more than a few minutes, even if you have really good insurance. So it’s kind of a challenge I think that people don’t have the same kind of bedside manner that we grew up with or maybe people that are used to in small country towns where they have a country town doctor. I would say Dr. Gary still represents that aspect of it. So he’s very personable and affluent, super knowledgeable, and even when it’s a very serious kind of problem that you might experience with something like cancer or normally your oncologist would sort of deal with that, but Dr. Gary is willing to take some time to help you work your way through the system, essentially not only the treatment, but maybe also some aspects of the cost as well. So yeah, Dr. Gary is a pretty amazing person in the medical field and that’s who comes to mind.
