There is one scientist in Turkey whose name is Jelal Şenber. He is famous for his research in geology. However, he is infamous in Turkey for his radical intellectual views towards Turkish culture and intellectual heritage. At one time, Jelal Şenber said on live television that Turkey is a masked Afghanistan. This created a huge backlash against him. However, despite his aggressive speech, he seems to me to be a patriot of the Turkish nation because he is brave enough to point out questionable and dangerous issues in contemporary and even past Turkish culture. Another example of his aggressive attitude towards the intolerance of the general public is his speech where he articulated that Turkish people are not completely human. According to Jelal Şenber, to be considered human, a person should have an IQ of 90. When the general IQ of a country is 90, it implies that many people do not have an IQ level of 90. So, Jelal Şenber believes that many people in Turkey are, excuse my language, clinically stupid. That being said, he is a well-known writer and a polymath in Turkey, and he is even known in Russia as one of the most significant geologists of contemporary science.
