A piece of advice that I initially ignored but later found extremely valuable came from my mother. She always encouraged me to wake up early instead of staying up late to study. She believed that getting enough sleep and studying early in the day could help me stay healthier and be more productive. However, when I was in high school, I didn't take her advice seriously. At that time, I thought I was much more productive at night. I often stayed up until midnight because I felt that everything was quiet and I could concentrate better. I believed waking up early would only make me feel sleepy, so I kept my own routine despite my mother's constant reminders. Everything changed after I started university. My schedule became much busier with lectures, group projects, and part-time tutoring. Staying up late left me feeling exhausted during morning classes, and I found it difficult to stay focused. I finally decided to follow my mother's advice by gradually going to bed earlier and setting my alarm about an hour earlier each day. After a few weeks, I noticed a huge difference. I felt more energetic, managed my time better, and became much more productive. I could review my lessons in the morning, enjoy a proper breakfast, and start the day without feeling rushed. My concentration also improved, and I no longer relied on coffee to stay awake during lectures. Looking back, I realized that my mother wasn't just telling me to wake up early; she was teaching me the importance of maintaining a healthy routine and managing my time wisely. Now, I consider it one of the best pieces of advice I have ever received because it has had a positive impact on both my studies and my overall well-being. Overall, this experience taught me that sometimes, we don't appreciate good advice until we experience its benefits ourselves.
