During the height of the war between Palestine and Israel, there was this little kid named Ahmed and he would make these cooking videos online. He would show himself making traditional Palestinian dishes. And through this video I saw the resilience that this young child had in the face of such a huge adversary. He was going through a war that most adults in today's world would have died, would have not survived just being in that type of war zone. And this little five-year-old boy was making shawarma for the internet to see him. And I learned, fast forward a couple of weeks after I saw his video on TikTok, he posted another video. His mother had died and he was begging the people of the world to listen to him, to help him escape the situation. And I remember just feeling so helpless because I don't have the funds to be able to get someone like him out of a war zone. And that just broke my heart and I remember crying for days. Later on, around I would say four months after I saw that video, I saw another update. An anonymous individual had helped Ahmed out of Gaza and got him into Switzerland. He was, I remember the smile on his face when I saw that video of him smiling at the Swiss airport. He was so excited to be out and I was so excited to see him safe. Finally, I remember it was the best, it was the best moment of humanity's kindness I have seen. It's for the first time, it made me realize that yes, human beings are actually there for each other, although there is a lot of kids in the world.
