A few months ago, I missed my best friend's engagement party. We've been close since college, like sisters, and we were always together. After graduation, everyone went their separate ways for work, many moving abroad. I was one of the few who stayed, and she knew I wouldn't be able to make it to her wedding next year because I was also moving soon. So, she decided to have an engagement party, inviting only our closest friends. She told me I had to be there, but unfortunately, I was staying at my cousin's house, which was a bit far away. There wasn't enough room for everyone, so I decided to wait for some friends to pick me up so we could go together. However, due to heavy rain and flooding, we got stuck in traffic. I was hoping we'd still make it on time, but we arrived just as the party was ending. My friend was really disappointed, and I felt so embarrassed and sad. I definitely plan to make it up to her at her wedding.
