The song that I’m particularly interested in and I want to delve into is called Arba King, created by an Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Olafur Olnold. Arba King is also known as the Riverbank in English and as I said it comes from Iceland by Olafur Olnold, a great pianist that I’ve known ever since I was listening to songs. As a matter of fact the song has its own lyrics and accompanied by Hanoi Grope, a poet, a poem, an Icelandic poem. He sings his own lyrics accompanied by Olafur’s lovely piano, resulting in a mnemonic composition. The song describes a river, a flowing river, a grey stone and a slow journey. Besides that it also describes friends and families who we have lost or who we like or friends who are hundreds of kilometers away. On top of that I believe that even though many people are not interested in classical genre, Arba King managed to get around 600,000 views on YouTube and it’s available online. You can listen to it just right now. Finally, I really have a deep connection with this song and it’s a reminiscent of my good old memories and everything related to my past, my friends, family members and everything. I love the rhythms and everything is just on a whole other level and it captivated me the first time I listened to it. If I had more time I would listen to it more than before.
