I believe social media plays a vital role in stopping the spread of fake news. They need to have policies to verify the information used on their platforms. They have to take more effective actions to control what users say, and users have responsibilities for what they say on the internet. For example, Facebook can identify the ID card of a person to ensure this is the one and only account of that person. If he or she spreads any misinformation, he or she has to face the consequences.
