Band 8+: Do you like receiving handwritten letters?

Your pronunciation is very good. Aim to refine subtleties and intonation to further improve.

The answer directly addresses the question with a clear opinion and provides a natural, well-structured response. It includes a brief elaboration on the reasons for the preference, which demonstrates a willingness to expand beyond a simple 'yes' or 'no'. To achieve a higher score, you could add a specific example or a brief contrast to make the response more vivid and personal, but the current answer is already strong and appropriate for the task.

The answer is well-organized and coherent, with a clear opinion followed by a reason and a concession. There is only one minor self-correction ('handwrites and letters' to 'handwritten letters'), which is acceptable and does not significantly impede fluency. To achieve a 9, aim for completely smooth delivery with no self-corrections.

The vocabulary is precise and appropriate for the topic, including terms like 'rely on', 'messaging apps', 'convenient', 'sentimental value', and 'practical'. The range is good, but not exceptionally wide. To reach a 9, consider using more varied and sophisticated expressions, such as 'in this digital age' or 'hold a nostalgic charm'.

The grammar is largely accurate, with correct use of present simple, comparative structures, and a concession clause. There is one minor error: 'it allows me' should be 'they allow me' (subject-verb agreement with 'apps'). The refined version corrects this. To achieve a 9, ensure consistent accuracy and use a wider range of complex structures, such as conditionals or relative clauses.
