I think a bit of clarification is needed in order to answer your question properly. The word idle here is a red flag to me. I don’t care, cannot just one, the one who is doing the idolizing to be in a subservient position. So I wouldn’t agree that this is good. This type of relationship is open to many types of abuse. However, in the context of personal development, I think it’s a very good thing to identify traits or characteristics from different people that are worth emulating. Say for example, the way someone greets someone, the way they conduct themselves in a meeting, listening first, and speaking. The way someone treats colleagues in one of my favorite ways, they treat the way it’s stuffed, the restaurant, or anyone else with less power and prestige than they feel they have. The nice thing is that traits can be recognized in a literate character, a stranger you’ll observe, or someone you know. The key is to be observant. Although a bit of advice, don’t try to emulate the person, emulate a certain trait.
