It is acceptable to some extent, but if you are overdoing it, then I will label you as a narcissistic person. We all have some kind of urge to seek approval and validation from others, and that's completely valid. However, if you keep seeking it like it's your medicine, and if you are not taking it, then you cannot live well, then maybe you need to go to a psychiatrist or a psychologist.
